Objective of the course

To produce competent Village leaders, Ward leaders, leaders of privately owned conservation areas and Community Based Organizations leaders who will supervise and ensure sustainable natural resources management in their areas of operations.

 

Specifically the course will make the target group competent in

1. Natural resources governance
2. Administration of materials and human resources in community based conservation

• Financial management in conservation related activities

1. Active community based conservation skills
2. Communication skills in natural resources leadership
3. Conservation law enforcement

• Current and cross cutting issues in conservation
• Management of community investments

1. Conflict management and mitigation

 

Target groups

The target groups for this course are Village Game Scouts, members of Village Natural Resources Management Committee, Members of Village Council, leaders of Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Village and Ward Executive Officers, Ward Councilors and leaders from privately owned conservation areas.

 

Entry Qualifications

Applicants to this course must be:

• Standard VII leavers and above
• Applicants who are physically and mentally fit
• Applicants aged 18 years and above

Media of Instructions: The medium of instructions is Kiswahili.
